1 year 9 days and 7 minutes

On a happier note...this is my gorgeous girls,Sienna on the left and Isabella on the right.Lying in bed with a torch reading a story.Cute much?!
Im praying like mad that when they are older they are just as good friends as they are now :) I know I complain about the 1 year 9 day and 7 minute age gap between them, but really, this picture just shows why its all worth it :D

Exorcism needed

Yesterday I spent the day at the hospital-and if you know me well, you know how much I just looove hospitals-with my mum who was having a total knee replacement. Bugger of a day!Is it weird though that it was actually kind of nice getting a day away?haha thats what my life has been reduced too!A relaxing day away is going to the hospital :p

So after getting to relax,I come home and my children turn into little terrors!!!And NO they weren't like that for Dad,they save it up for mum. I was on the phone to my grandmother when they decide that is the best time to bite each other, pull each others hair, kick bottles at the others face and scream bloody murder!!!!!This all = a not so happy mummy! I got mine back though, they were in bed by 5.55pm!!!!

So a hard day YES,buuuuuut I got to lie in bed for a good 3 hours with no children,no husband, just me and a couple of Twilight movies :)

Sanity...what sanity??

My sanity is being extremely tested today! Love our girls to pieces but goodness after having spent an hour tidying their room they managed to destroy it in 10 minutes while I was on the phone!!! Not to mention climbing on their very tall dresser,Sienna jumping from the coffee table to the couch and Isabella somehow being a 13 year old trapped in a 3 year old body!!!

Soooo..this is my de-stressing moment!Hope it helps another mum feel a bit more normal haha.

Lunchtime for them then an afternoon sleep for all of us is in order I think :)

Being a mum is harder than being an MP

‎"The implication is these mothers aren't working, mothers have been so denigrated that its as though they're not doing real work. I can tell you I've been a mother and its much harder than being an MP" Sue Kedgley on BackBenches last night referring to Nationals welfare reforms'

This is something one of my friends put up on facebook in our mums group! How true is this though, and I am SO stoked this was said by someone in government :D

Mothers-most of the time because there are always exceptions to the rule arent there?!- have got to be the hardest working people in the world! What we manage to fit into 24 hours is really incredible.

So thank you Ms Sue Kedgley for acknowledging us and for acknowledging what we do is harder than sitting in the beehive discussing our nations future!!!You get my vote thats for sure :)

Sleeping like a baby

So its 6.30pm,hubbys at work, kids are in bed and only the dishes are calling my name! I've done pretty well today, baked some buns, cooked mini quiches for dinner, two loads of washing is hanging up,another two loads of washing has been folded and put away, baked a cake for my brothers-in-law,read a book and spent time with my girly wirlys today :) All while Mr Wong studied blissfully unaware with headphones on...love you babe! :p

No wonder at the end of the day parents crash and just want to blob haha.I never understood that when I was teen and would stay with my sister (who has 4 beautiful little girls),in saying that a decade later I'm not 14 and able to stay awake for copious amounts of hours! Its a miraculous night where I'm still awake at 10.30,which Mr Wong finds highly amusing...the man who survives somehow on 4 hours of sleep if he needs too.Haha 2 kids and 3 1/2 years down the track I'm still not capable of that feat.

Speaking of sleep and looking at the photo of Miss Sienna sleeping the dishes are hauntingly calling my name and then I think my bed will be doing the same!!

Bubbly Bubbles

I love love love love having a hot bubbly bath!!!!!Before I had kids it wasn't something I particularly indulged in...but now....its just one of those things when you slide into some hot water that makes you go 'ahhhh' .

A big thank you goes out to my wonderful husband Steve who frequently watches the two littlies so I can have a soak (when they're in bed so am I haha).

Funny how running through my mind while soaking is not a mindless hum but "Ba ba ba bubbly bubbles' gotta love the Wiggles :p

(oh and I SO want one of these tubs when we own our own home!!!)

munchkins

I have a new favourite time of the day....Ive just started checking on the girls before going to bed myself-previously was hubbys job-and discovering our munchkins in each others beds or having swapped beds or just looking all cute and snoring, just puts the biggest smile on my face ever!

What a way to end my day :)

Tea Parties

Im in love with the idea of having a tea party at the moment!I think it would be an awesome thing for big and little girls to do :) Isabella and Sienna seem to enjoy them so much Im sure that those of us that are grow up would too!!Maybe one day when the sun is out

"cuggles" and princesses

Best thing about being a mum right now???
Isabella our darling 3 1/2 year old, looking at one of our wedding photos and telling me "look Mummy your a princess and I love you" and the other day she put a white twirly dress, spun around on her little tip toes and said "Im wearing a dress like you Mummy". Melt my heart moment.
And Sienna our precious 2 1/2 year old learning to wrap her little pudgy baby arms around my neck saying "cuggles" (for those who arent parents, thats baby for cuddles!) and giving me a big old squeeze!

Definitely makes up for snot being smeared, the pooh filled nappies and the tantrums haha. Im sure God made moments like this happen so we can keep our sanity and remind us why we really do love our kids!

Life

Far out,its been so long since I hopped on here!
Life has been pretty crazy since I last posted...in April this year we moved back to Hamilton, after much nagging on my part (thank God Steve loves me haha). Absolutely loving being back near family again!6 years ago I never would've thought that, but its really REALLY made a huge difference for us a family, which is fantastic!
Downside to being back in foggy Hamilton is the cold!My toes feel like they're going to fall off constantly! I've remembered why our heater used to be running non-stop when we lived here before (and why we had $700 a month power bills :p ).
So an update...
Steves busy at uni,has exams next week but he''s already passed all his papers, clever chicken he is.Next semester he'll be officially in his 3rd year!Yay!!!Only have 3 years to go from then :) He got a job late last week which is so awesome, working at Zinc Friday nights and Saturday during the day.Have to admit we're dreaming a lot about him having finished his study and working full-time,all the things we'll be able to do....
The girls are growing like little weeds,I swear they're going to be taller than me by the time theyre 5! (not that that would be a hard thing to accomplish).Isabella is loving kindy, unfortunately hasnt been able to go a'lot as shes been sick poor poppet. But from the time she has gone shes learnt shapes and colours and her manners are even better than they were. Siennas at a really cute age, even her tantrums are cute-well sometimes!Shes just started saying "cuggles"and wrapping her little baby arms around my neck and squeezing!Ahhhh reminds me why I love being a mum!
I honestly havent been up to a hell of a lot other then the normal day-to-day stuff that comes with being a stay-at-home mum. Have had some worrying news from the dr but will update once I know more.
For now we are enjoying life :)
